Luxemburg-Casco sweeps boys and girls titles at Russ Fameree Invitational

Luxemburg-Casco made the most of its home course Friday, sweeping both the boys and girls varsity team titles at the Russ Fameree Cross Country Invitational.

 

Boys Varsity

On the boys side, Luxemburg-Casco took first place with 42 points, finishing ahead of NEWCHAA Homeschool (63) and Sheboygan Area Lutheran (74).

 

Leading the Spartans was junior Ezra Treml, who won the individual title with a personal-best time of 15:51.9. Teammate Zach Tassoul followed in fourth place with a time of 16:53.7.

 

Marcis Doell added an 11th-place finish in 17:36.5, while Bryce Piesler finished 15th in 17:52.3 and Noah Dubois took 16th in 17:53.1 to round out Luxemburg-Casco's top five.

 

Kewaunee finished ninth in the team standings with 275 points. Gage Vlies led the Storm with a 52nd-place finish in 19:38.8, followed by Jayden Reckelberg in 55th at 19:47.4. Jaylon Mason (72nd, 20:36.8), Bentley Schmitt (77th, 20:44.8) and Jaxon Slack (78th, 20:45.8) completed Kewaunee's top five.

 

Southern Door placed 11th with 292 points, led by Colton Valley, who finished 34th in 18:31.8. Joel Moyer followed in 56th with a time of 19:50.2, while Ashton Bouche finished 65th in 20:14.1. Vincent Price (99th, 22:22.0) and Tyler Kluge (111th, 23:35.4) rounded out the Eagles' scoring runners.

 

Sturgeon Bay finished 12th with 296 points. Junior Rio Martinez led the Clippers with a 23rd-place finish in 18:11.9. Deacon Haus took 69th in 20:34.2, followed by Norbert Cross (89th, 21:44.8), Jace Wisniewski (95th, 22:08.3) and John Norton (100th, 22:34.5).

 

Sevastopol did not record a team score but was led by Landon Sitte, who finished 53rd in 19:41.6. Axel Tlatempa followed in 63rd with a personal-best time of 20:02.1, while Ryder Ortmayer took 79th in 20:50.1.

 

Girls Varsity

Leading the pack for the girls was Luxemburg-Casco senior Claire DuChateau, who won the individual title with a time of 18:38.3.

 

DuChateau's performance helped the Spartans complete the team sweep, finishing first with 75 points, just seven ahead of Oconto Falls (82).

 

Adeline Treml added a sixth-place finish for Luxemburg-Casco in 20:32.7, while Gretta Annoye took 15th with a personal-best time of 21:14.1. Ellison Bosman finished 23rd in 22:05.6, and Elena Dechamps rounded out the Spartans' top five in 34th at 22:32.9.

 

Southern Door followed with a third-place team finish, scoring 112 points. Sophomore Malaina Veeser led the Eagles with a third-place individual finish in 19:44.8.

 

Addison Miller took 22nd in 21:59.4, followed by Savannah Herbst in 28th at 22:22.7. Portia Hah (31st, 22:28.8) and Nikaya Trusova (32nd, 22:31.1) completed Southern Door's scoring five.

 

Kewaunee finished fourth overall with 137 points, led by Natalie Miller's 14th-place finish in 21:00.7. Kaylyn Martin followed in 20th with a time of 21:41.9, while Alison Kuehl placed 27th in 22:19.5. Milli Paul (40th, 22:54.9) and Olivia Kuehl (44th, 23:00.9) rounded out the Storm's top five.

 

Sevastopol placed 10th with 244 points. Breiah Newton led the Pioneers with a seventh-place finish in 20:33.2. Shylee Asher finished 52nd in 23:39.9, followed closely by Margaret Thomas in 53rd at 23:40.1. Izzy Andreae (70th, 24:30.7) and Olivia Valenzuela (88th, 25:36.4) completed Sevastopol's scoring runners.

 

Sturgeon Bay finished just behind Sevastopol in 11th place with 246 points. Freshman Abigail Matson led the Clippers with a 36th-place finish in 22:48.4, followed by Penny Kiedrowski in 42nd at 22:57.2.

 

Megan Selle added a 54th-place finish in 23:41.7, while Scarlet Tomberlin took 58th in 23:54.3. Destiny Romero rounded out Sturgeon Bay's top five in 73rd with a time of 24:38.3.
