Luxemburg Casco found the endzone early and often, as the Spartans rolled past Seymour for a 42-6 win on its Homecoming game, as heard on 104.1 WRLU.
Eli Derenne continued a sensational season, scoring his first of three touchdowns on the third play of the game, scampering to the end zone from 59 yards out. The Spartans defense forced a punt and marched down the field once again. This time Derenne connected with Joey Jeanquart through the air, with Jeanquart making a pair of Thunder defenders to score from 11 yards out. Luxemburg Casco's defense forced a fumbled on Seymour's ensuing drive, taking over deep in Thunder territory. Moments later, Ben Klass punched in his first touchdown of the evening from 1 yard out in the closing seconds of the opening quarter to go up 21-0. Another defensive stop led to another Seymour punt, followed by Derenne's second score of the evening, this time for 33 yards. The Luxemburg Casco defense was able to force yet another punt, this time deep into Spartans territory, with the offense taking over at their own 10. LC got a couple big plays, methodically going down the field, and scoring on another Klass 1 yard touchdown. Wyatt Bailey was perfect on PAT kicks, giving the Spartans a 35-0 lead, and running clock for the remainder of the contest. Luxemburg Casco took this score into the halftime Homecoming festivities which you can see below.
With running clock for the entirety of the second half, the game moved quick. Seymour started the half with the ball, and was putting together its best drive of the game but a fumble got the Thunder backed up behind the chains and ultimately punting. The Spartans offense kept the starters out for one more drive, capped off with Derenne completing the hat trick with a 20 yard score. Seymour would get find the endzone, with Greg Salzman rushing from 28 yards out against the Spartans reserves late in the 4th.
Luxemburg Casco head coach Neil Seering joined the broadcast, complimenting his team's efforts to put together a complete game and crediting the efforts of the lineman and the "Brotherhood of Belief"
