Luxemburg Casco came up short against Kewaunee last week, but will look to get back to its winning ways with the start of North Eastern Conference play, when the Spartans travel south to face Kohler/Sheboygan Christian/Lutheran, which will be heard on 104.1 WRLU.
The Spartans were able to move the ball throughout the game against Kewaunee, but were held to one score, courtesy of a Ben Klass 1-yard touchdown. This was a stark contrast to LC's opening contest, which saw the Spartans put up 37 points, behind Eli Derenne's 434 yards of total offense. Despite being stifled by the Storm, Derenne still ranks among the top passers and rushers in all of Division 3.
Kohler is new to the North Eastern Conference, coming over from the Eastern Conference. The Blue Bombers have already matched their win total from a season ago, getting out to a 2-0 record after a 28-6 win over Reedsville to start the season and a 30-14 win over Oostburg last week. Quarterback Aiden Oldenhoff has led the way offensively, completing 32 of 44 passes so far, for 381 yards, 5 touchdowns, and just 1 interception. Sophomore running back Maxwell Sewacki leads the ground game with 201 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Eric Fischer and Ramsay Thompson will have the call from Ebben Grandstand Field at Kohler High School, with the pregame show getting underway at 6:45 pm and kickoff to follow at 7:00 pm. Tune in on your radio dial at 104.1 WRLU or online around the world at NEWRadioSportsNetwork.com.
