The celebration will have to be short-lived for the Luxemburg-Casco soccer team after they shut out Kaukauna 1-0 ahead of their Friday night match at Seymour.

Chances were limited, but Elvin Mendoza buried a pass by Connor Hart into the back of the net for the match's lone tally. The Spartans only had three other shots on net with the Ghosts' Ty Tripp saving the others. Carson Koller collected 10 saves of his own to earn the win.

The Spartans will now play the Thunder on the road at 6:30 p.m. after their hosts opened their season with a 2-0 loss to Clintonville.
