The Luxemburg-Casco girls soccer team heads to Kiel on Thursday for their sectional semifinal bout in the WIAA tournament.
The Spartans are fresh off their regional title-clinching win last Saturday when they beat Freedom 2-0. With Emi Kuhn scoring the team's two goals in the first eight minutes, the Spartans relied on Teagan Gunderson making six saves to preserve the shutout. The Spartans used their defense to control the game offensively and it allowed them to keep Freedom off the board entirely, reversing the loss they were handed early this season.
The Raiders enter the contest off an 8-0 win over Waupun in their regional title game. They have not given up a goal in their last five games, outscoring their opponents 31-0. They are 22-0-1 on the season with a 2-2 draw against Notre Dame Academy their lone blemish on the season.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
