A NEC rival stands in the way of the Luxemburg-Casco softball team and a WIAA Regional title game berth when they welcome Marinette on Tuesday.

The Spartans ended their regular season with losses to Brillion and Mosinee, but it was preceded by a five-game winning streak. In their loss to Mosinee, the Spartans struck first in the second inning with their only run of the game Karsyn Walyczyk singled in a run. The Spartans were outhit 11-6 by the Indians in the loss. Three different pitchers took the circle for the Spartans with Jasmine Jandrin taking the brunt of the damage, allowing nine runs (5 ER) on eight hits while striking out four across four innings. 

The Marines are 4-16 on the season, advancing to their game against the Spartans after beating New London 5-4. The win snapped a seven-game losing streak to end their regular season.
