Noah Chervenka was just a little bit better than Cooper Smith in the Luxemburg-Casco baseball team's 3-0 win against Marinette on Thursday. 

 

Both pitchers went the distance for their respective teams with Chervenka striking out seven and allowing no runs on one hit while Smith went six innings allowing three runs (0 ER) on four hits while striking out nine.

 

The Spartans took advantage of a passed ball in the second inning and an error in the third inning to take an early 2-0 win. They added on insurance in the sixth inning when Bryce Piesler scored on a wild pitch. 

 

Eli Derenne paced the Spartans with two hits while Brayden Radart and Ethan Dachelet each had one.

 

The Spartans are back in action on Saturday when they travel to Freedom to battle the Irish.
