Luxemburg-Casco holds off New Holstein for fourth straight

The Luxemburg-Casco Spartans survived a back-and-forth battle Tuesday, edging New Holstein 6-5 in varsity softball action.

The Spartans jumped out early and built a 6-4 lead heading into the late innings before New Holstein made things interesting. Claire Schleis and Karsyn Walyczyk each had big days at the plate, both going 2-for-4 with an RBI. Alayna Deprez and Gracie Jandrin also collected two hits apiece for Luxemburg-Casco, which finished with 12 hits on the day.

Baylee Wypiszenski picked up the win in the circle, and Jasmine Jandrin came on to earn the save.

New Holstein's Reese Kraus gave the Spartans some trouble, going 3-for-4 with two RBIs, but it wasn't enough to complete the comeback.

Next up, Luxemburg-Casco travels to Denmark Thursday with first pitch set for 4:30pm.
