The location didn't matter, as Luxemburg Casco and Clintonville had to move their game to Bay Port due to field conditions at both schools, as the Spartans swept a Saturday doubleheader, with Game 1 having been broadcasted on 104.1 WRLU.
Luxemburg Casco jumped to an early lead courtesy of a six run 2nd inning, with RBI knocks by Ethan Engum, Eli Derenne, and Ethan Werner. Clintonville cut into the lead by scoring a pair in the third, when Levi Wolf and Carter Longsine each driving in a run. The Spartans got the runs back, and then some, batting around and scoring five, with three runs coming in on a bases loaded triple by Gavin Lax. Tatum Klaubauf also drove in the first of his two RBI in the game on a sacrifice fly. Clintonville was retired in order in the fourth, before LC added another run, as Klaubauf smoked a triple to left field, knocking in Engum, grabbing a 12-2 lead. The Spartans had a chance to end the game via run rule in the fifth, but Clintonville tacked on a pair in the top of the frame. Luxemburg had the game ending runner in scoring position in the bottom of the 5th but were unable to capitalize to close the game. The Truckers added one more run in the 6th, after an errant pickoff attempt allowed a runner to score. The Spartans added two in the bottom of the frame as Derenne and Hudson Billings each drove in a run on a sacrifice fly. Brayden Radart closed the contest with three strikeouts in the 7th, giving LC a 14-5 win.
The Spartans completed the sweep with a 15-5 win in Game 2. Next up for Luxemburg Casco, a nonconference trip to Shawano on Monday, ahead of a pair of games against the Denmark Vikings later in the week.
