Spartans hosting track and field meet

The Luxemburg-Casco track and field team is preparing for this Thursday as they are set to host an invitational meet. The Spartans will be inviting Denmark, Gibraltar, Menasha, Menominee Indian, Shawano Community, Southern Door, and Two Rivers. 

 

The Spartans recently sent their team to Green Bay Preble. The top performers for the Spartans were Claire DuChateau, taking third in the 1600m. The SMR 1200M team took third, which included Ellison Bosman, Sienna Blohowiak, Josie Monfils, and DuChateau. The boys’ 4 by 400M relay of Brady Kinnard, Levi Kinnard, Brenden Deering, and Jonathan Salentine took fourth. 

 

The Gibraltar Vikings last ran at the Door County Classic. Josie Martin was their lone winner on the evening. Martin threw the discus 98.5 feet to win the event for the Vikings. Azucena Jauregui took the podium in several events, including the 200m (3rd), 300m hurdles (2nd), and long jump (3rd), while the 4x100m relay took second. The boys had runner-up performances by Graham De Voe(3200m), the 4x100m relay, and Xavier Gaddes (discus).

 

The Southern Door Eagles last competed at the Door County Classic, where both the boys and girls took first. On the boys' side, Elmer Jeanquart (400m), Colton Valley (800m), Grant Pieschek (pole vault), and all four relays took home victories. For the girls, Frankie Nellis (100m, long jump, triple jump), Elise Jackson (200m, 100m hurdles, 300m hurdles), Kailyn Neville (shotput), Ava Everard (T-high jump), and Maiya Olson (T-high jump) collected event wins.
