The Luxemburg-Casco baseball team got strong pitching performances from Gavin Lax and Hudson Billings to slip past Wrightstown 2-1 on Monday.
The pair combine to strike out 10 batters across seven innings with Lax getting touched up for one runs (1 ER) and two hits across his five innings of work. The Spartans' bats woke up in the third inning trailing 1-0 with Ethan Werner's fielder's choice driving in one run and Jacob Coisman's double proving to be the difference in the game. Billings, Toby Klaubauf, and Lax collected the other hits for the Spartans.
The teams will face off again on Tuesday with the Spartans making the trip to Wrightstown for a 4:30 p.m. first pitch.
