Baylee Wypiszenski struck out 12 batters as the right-handed pitcher led the Spartans past Marinette 6-1 on Thursday at Marinette High School. Wypiszenski allowed five hits and one run over seven innings while walking one.

 

The Spartans were the first to get on the board in the first inning when Alayna Deprez singled, scoring one run.

 

Abbi Maske took the loss for Marinette. The right-handed pitcher went seven innings, giving up six runs (five earned) on six hits, striking out five and walking 11.

 

Alayna Deprez went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Luxemburg-Casco in hits. Riley Westland, Claire Schleis, Alayna Deprez, and Gracie Jandrin each drove in one run. Rylan Kaminski paced the Spartans with four walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, amassing 11 walks for the game. Riley Westland stole two bases.

 

The Marines' Lilly Anderson, the number seven hitter, led Marinette with two hits in three at bats. The Marines turned one double play in the game.

 

Next up for Luxemburg-Casco is a game against Notre Dame Academy on Friday.
