The Luxemburg-Casco boys’ wrestling team is hitting the road this Monday as they are heading to Illinois to take on dozens of schools at the DeKalb Barbs. The Luxemburg-Casco wrestling team secured several victories at the recent Kansas City Stampede, even though they were ultimately eliminated from the main bracket. Carson Neubert achieved the deepest run of any Spartan wrestler, advancing to the consolation bracket quarterfinals. Additionally, multiple Spartans managed to earn several wins before being relegated to the Hard Luck Tournament.
Traveling approximately 1,750 for two wrestling tournaments might seem crazy, but head coach Chas Treml believes there are some great opportunities for his team to improve and battle some tactics they may not be used to seeing if they stuck to just local tournaments.
The medals came in the Hard Luck Brackets of the Kansas City Stampede with Coy Anderson (106, 3rd), Calvin Henderson (215, 2nd), Linkin Bastien (150, 2nd), Josiah Bastien (165, 1st), and Logan Ellwanger (175, 2nd) all finishing in the top three.
