Two of the top area teams are set for battle Monday night, as Algoma and Luxemburg Casco face off on 104.1 WRLU.
Luxemburg Casco is off to one of its best starts in recent years, starting the 2025-26 season with a 3-2 record. The Spartans won three in a row before dropping their last contest to Denmark last Thursday. Jacob Coisman leads LC into battle, averaging 10.8 points per game, with Mason Burmeister, Bryce Piesler, and Mason Trimberger adding over 9 points a game each.
Algoma comes in at 4-1 on the young season, including a 60-49 win over Southern Door last Thursday. Parker Lischka leads the Wolves with 24.6 points per game, and is knocking on the door of history. Lischka is 9 points away from becoming Algoma High School, a record currently held by Carter Zimmerman, and his 1,299 points. Lischka moved into 2nd, passing Mark Wautlet in Algoma’s lone loss of the season, a 67-64 defeat at the hands of the Peshtigo Bulldogs. The Wolves also get 22.6 points per game from fellow senior Breadan Leist.
Algoma and Luxemburg Casco’s boys and girls basketball programs will participate in a double header, with broadcast airing the boys game. Our coverage starts at 5:30, with tipoff set for 5:45pm. The girls contest will follow 15 minutes after the conclusion of the boys game. Eric Fischer and Ramsay Thompson will have the call on 104.1 WRLU.
