The Luxemburg-Casco volleyball kept their regional final appearance streak alive on Thursday with a 3-0 (25-14, 25-13, 25-19) win over Seymour on Thursday night.
Leading the Spartans were Alayna Deprez (32 assists, 10 digs), Aubrey Frey (18 kills, 7 digs), Claire Schleis (7 kills), Ali Jansen (5 kills), MJ Olson (5 kills), and Danica Bartels (11 digs).
Head coach Jeff Frey was proud of how the girls played and their strong start in the tournament. "The match had a weird flow all night, all the credit to Amber and her team. The played scrappy and made us work, Frey said postmatch. "This team is about surviving and advancing, and we earned another practice and match."
The win gives the Spartans another crack at Oconto Falls after the two sides met a few matches ago. On that night, the Spartans defeated Oconto Falls on the road 3-1 (30-28, 25-19, 18-25, 25-14) to officially clinch the North Eastern Conference championship. Alayna Deprez led the way with 43 assists and 14 digs, while Aubrey Frey turned in another dominant performance with 30 kills, 13 digs, and six aces. Claire Schleis added nine kills and three aces, and Rylan Kaminski anchored the defense with 17 digs.
The match is set for 7 p.m. on Saturday.
