Luxemburg-Casco volleyball capped off regular season play with a full Saturday of competition, splitting four matches against strong programs to finish 2-2 on the day.
The Spartans came out firing in their opening matches, sweeping both Kaukauna (25-17, 25-14) and Valders (25-16, 25-17) behind balanced offense and consistent serving runs.
As the day went on, L-C found itself in two gritty three-set showdowns. Against Middleton, the Spartans bounced back from a first-set loss with a dominant second before ultimately falling 15-9 in the deciding frame. Their final match mirrored the same intensity, as Waukesha West narrowly took the win 25-22, 13-25, 15-12.
Leading the way for the Spartans were Alyana Deprez (103 assists, 33 digs), Aubrey Frey (57 kills, 31 digs, 6 aces), Claire Schleis-(30 kills), Danica Bartels (31 Digs), and Rylan Kaminski (41 digs, 5 aces).
Head coach Jeff Frey called the tournament a great way to end the regular season. "We played some really good D1 teams, and I like the way we battled today," Frey said. "We are excited to kick off the post season next week."
Luxemburg-Casco closes its regular season at 30-12 overall and 7-1 in North Eastern Conference play, a strong finish heading into postseason action.
