Spartans to wrap up regular season on road on 104.1 WRLU

Luxemburg Casco will have one final road test on Friday night, as the Spartans travel to Freedom for a matchup between two playoff bound teams on 104.1 WRLU.

Luxemburg Casco lost its first game of the season last Thursday, when Little Chute spoiled their homecoming game.  In a 42-27 loss, the Spartans ground game was stifled, as no rusher eclipsed more than 55 yards, with only one score coming on the ground.  Eli Derenne did toss 3 touchdowns in the losing effort.  Despite the loss, Luxemburg Casco only dropped 2 spots in the weekly WIAA preliminary playoff qualifying report.  Seeding will be announced on Saturday.

Across the field will be the Freedom Irish. Freedom also comes into Friday’s contest with a 7-1 record, with its only loss coming to Little Chute.  The Irish downed Sheboygan Falls last week, 41-0, led by 2 touchdown passes from Owen Henkel, and a 74 yard rushing effort by Axzil Eggert that also included a score.  Freedom is currently ranked 7th in Division 4 in the Bound WI poll, and 13th in the WIAA preliminary playoff report.

Eric Fischer and Ramsay Thompson will have the call, with the pregame show beginning at 6:45, with kickoff at 7:00 pm.
