The Luxemburg-Casco boys cross country team continued its standout season Thursday, claiming the Russ Fameree Invitational title with a team score of 45 points placing three runners in the top 10 and five inside the top 20.
Sophomore Zach Tassoul led the Spartans with a personal-best 17:06.21, good for third place overall. Senior Derek Christoph followed in fifth at 17:18.76, while senior Jonathan Salentine took seventh with a personal best of 17:21.47.
Ezra Treml (13th, 17:34.90) and Tanner Snowberry (17th, 17:49.61, PR) rounded out the scoring five for Luxemburg-Casco, which beat out Fox Valley Lutheran (95) and Sheboygan Area Lutheran (113) for the top spot.
Southern Door finished 11th with 278 points, led by Owen Larios Amezquita, who placed 29th in 18:20.36 — a personal record for the junior.
Kewaunee took 15th with 409 points, paced by junior Gage Vlies in 76th (19:51.54).
Sevastopol was led by senior Aaron Tomaszewski, who finished 21st in 18:06.29.
Sturgeon Bay rounded out local competition, with junior Silas Nerby clocking a personal-best 23:05.37 to lead the Clippers.
