The Luxemburg-Casco volleyball team secured its first major goal of the season Thursday night, defeating Oconto Falls on the road 3-1 (30-28, 25-19, 18-25, 25-14) to officially clinch the North Eastern Conference championship.
With the win, the Spartans improved to 28-9 overall and 7-0 in conference play.
Alayna Deprez led the way with 43 assists and 14 digs, while Aubrey Frey turned in another dominant performance with 30 kills, 13 digs, and six aces. Claire Schleis added nine kills and three aces, and Rylan Kaminski anchored the defense with 17 digs.
“Tonight was a great win,” said coach Jeff Frey. “Rochelle always has her team ready, and it’s tough to win in their gym. It was a big win for so many reasons, but we accomplished our first goal of the season by clinching the NEC championship. It was a total team win, and I am beyond proud of the entire team. There’s so much more work to do and so many things left to accomplish, but we’ll celebrate this a little tonight.”
