With the help of two top-ten individual performances, the Luxemburg-Casco girls golf team placed seventh at the Seymour Sectional held Tuesday at Crystal Springs Golf Course, finishing with a team score of 417.
Junior Reese Bandow led the Spartans with a team-best 90, highlighted by a 42 on the front nine, good for the second-best front nine of the entire field. Her round tied Kate Forton, a senior from St. Thomas More. Sophomore Brielle Snowberry joined her in the top ten, shooting a 93 to round out a strong showing for L-C.
Also contributing to the Spartans’ effort were junior Averi Buresh (113), sophomore Chloe Treml (121), and freshman Laney Treml (130).
Host Seymour captured the team title with a score of 370, while Aubrey Molaison, a sophomore from Lake Country Lutheran, claimed the individual title after firing a consistent 76 (38-38) and finishing nine strokes ahead of the next closest competitor.
