Luxemburg-Casco football stays perfect in route of Shawano Saturday

Luxemburg-Casco kept their record perfect at 6-0 (3-0) with a 37-8 win at Shawano Saturday.

Eli Derenne had a phenomenal performance through the air, starting with a 28-yard strike to get the Spartans on the board after their first defensive takeaway.

A swing pass late in the second quarter added another 20-yard touchdown pass for Derenne and put Luxemburg-Casco up 20-0 at the half.

The Spartans defense flourished with three fumble recoveries in the win, one that was nearly returned for a touchdown by Brayden Loritz. It still set up a touchdown a few plays later for a 27-0 lead.

Shawano would scrap for a touchdown and two-point conversion, but not without L-C adding a few more scores themselves en route to a blowout 37-8 victory. Looking to stay perfect, the Spartans get back to a normal Friday schedule as they travel to face Two Rivers (1-5, 1-3) October 3 with a 7 p.m. kickoff. Eric Fischer will have the call on 104.1 WRLU beginning with the pregame show at 6:45 p.m.
