The Luxemburg-Casco volleyball team posted a 3-3 record en route to an 11th place finish in the Charger Challenge in Milwaukee.
In pool play, the Spartans beat Kettle Moraine Lutheran- 25-16, 25-17 and McFarland 25-23, 25-13 before losing to Waukesha West-19-25, 21-25. The team lost to Menomonee Falls- 9-25, 20-25 before splitting its Silver Bracket matches with a quarterfinal win over Burlington- 21-25, 25-19, 15-4 before losing the semi-final to Xavier 25-20, 22-25, 10-15.
The Spartans were led by Alayna Deprez (111 assists, 41 digs, 15 kills), Aubrey Frey (71 Kills, 54 digs, 10 aces), Claire Schleis (37 kills, 9 aces), and Rylan Kaminski (55 digs).
Head coach Jeff Frey said that it was an overall good weekend at a tournament they look forward to every year. "The competition is high, and I thought we did a great job of competing all weekend," Frey said after the weekend. "We continue to do a lot of really good things, and the exciting thing is we have a lot of growth let in us."
