The Luxemburg-Casco baseball team left Clintonville with a pair of wins on Saturday, beating the Truckers 3-0 and 9-1.
In game one, the two teams played scoreless ball until the Spartans tallied two runs in the sixth when Gavin Lax and Noah Chervenka singled in runs. Jacob Coisman added an exclamation point to his run batted in with a homer. Jake Chervenka did not need much help in his complete game, allowing no runs on three hits and a walk while striking out 13.
In game two, the Spartans scored runs in each of the first four innings, including three runs in the second and third innings. While Reagan Doell's double provide a big boost during the stretch, the Spartans were able to take advantage of self-inflicted wounds by the Truckers, which committed several errors and allowed a run via a walk and a balk. Eli Derenne and Jacob Coisman each had two hits while Doell registered two RBI. Noah Chervenka and Doell combined to allow one run (0 ER) on four hits while striking out 12.
