The Luxemburg-Casco softball team avenged Thursday's loss to Denmark by beating them 3-1 on Friday.

The Vikings struck first in the opening frame, but the Spartans tied the game up in the second inning thanks to a run-scoring triple by Alayna Deprez. A Reese Westlund homer in the fourth and an Emma Murphy run-scoring single proved to be the difference needed to split the week series with the Spartans' nemesis. Erin Cherovsky earned the win pitching all seven and allowing just one run (0 ER) and three hits while striking out two.
