Lady Spartans crush Mustangs on 104.1 WRLU

The Luxemburg-Casco Spartans dominated the Little Chute Mustangs 69-26 in a North Eastern Conference girls' basketball Tuesday night in Luxemburg.

 

The senior night crowd was treated to a memorable evening as all three seniors played key roles in the win. Erin Cherovsky scored 12 points, Hannah Schley had 5 points, and Maggie DeBaker added 4 more. All three girls were honored before and after the game.

 

The Spartans jumped off to a quick start forcing numerous turnovers that turned into easy baskets on the offensive end.  A late basket by Sienna Blohowiak in the final seconds of the first half gave the Spartans a commanding 41-16 lead at intermission.

 

 

 

Brianna Bray leads the way in scoring for the Spartans with 16 points, while Blohowiak added 15 more.

 

The Mustangs (0-14, 0-18 overall) were led by Elliana Martin, who scored nine points, as Little Clute lost its 42nd consecutive game.

 

The Spartans (8-5, 8-10 overall) will now finish the regular season with six straight road games before the WIAA state tournament regionals.

 

The next game broadcast on 104.1 WRLU will be the Luxemburg-Casco boys versus the Freedom Irish on Friday, January 21.   Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. from Luxemburg-Casco High School. Paul Schmitt and Eric Fischer on the call with the pre-game show starting at 6:45 p.m. and be streamed on NEW Radio Sports Network.
