Spartans look to derail Truckers on 104.1 WRLU Friday

The Luxemburg-Casco Spartans will host the Clintonville Truckers in North Eastern Conference basketball on Friday night. Both teams are looking to get on a roll before tournament time.

The Spartans (2-8, 3-12 overall) are coming off an 80-66 loss to the Oconto Falls Panthers on the road Tuesday, while Clintonville (1-9, 1-14 overall) lost to Fox Valley Lutheran 72-52 at home.  In the first matchup this season, the Truckers defeated the Spartans 57-52 in Clintonville in December.

Luxemburg-Casco co-coach Matt Piesler says his team has made progress after adjusting to a coaching change early in the season and right before the last Clintonville game.

Josh Parins leads Luxemburg-Casco in scoring with 9.8 points per game, while Brayden Duescher averages 4.2 rebounds.

The Truckers are led by Sam Wegener, averaging 14.9 per game, and Bryar Hagberg, grabbing 7.5 rebounds per contest.

The pregame show on 104.1 WRLU and streamed on NewRadioSportsNetwork.com is set for 6:45 p.m. with tipoff at 7 p.m.  Paul Schmitt and Eric Fischer from Luxemburg-Casco High School.
