Spartans girls sunk by Pirates

The Luxemburg-Casco girls basketball team kept things close but could not secure the win as they fell to Division 1 Bay Port at home 55-45.

The Pirates showed a balanced offense in the first half, with six players scoring at least four points, while Brianna Bray carried the water for the Spartans, scoring 18 of the team's 22 first-half points. Trailing 27-22 at the break, the Spartans had to rely on other players offensively in the second half as the Pirates focused their attention on Bray. She would end her night with 19 points Sienna Blohowiak was the beneficiary of that attention, scoring all 10 of her points in the second half. Chloe Host added four points, and two other players registered a pair. Melia Lemorande led the Pirates with 11 points, while Payton Dudra, Olivia Williams, Keira Lynch, and Kailynn Thompson all had eight points.
