The Luxemburg-Casco Spartans rallied early to keep it close but could not stop the Seymour Thunder on Monday night, falling 79-38 at home.
The Spartans were down 12-0 in the first three minutes but went on an 11-4 run to cut the lead to 14-11 halfway through the first half.
Seymour then responded with a 26-10 run to finish the half, including a half-court banked-in shot by Jordan Krause with .4 seconds left to give the Thunder a commanding 41-20 lead at intermission.
The Spartans fought hard in the second half but were outscored 39-17 as Kyler Marks poured in a game-high 26 points for Seymour (7-2).
Jacob Coisman paced the Spartans with 10 points, and Eli Derene added seven points in the loss.
Luxemburg-Casco (2-6, 1-3 in the NEC) will now play Denmark at home on Friday night as they return to conference play. The pregame will start at 7 p.m. on 104.1 WRLU, with tip-off scheduled shortly after the completion of the girls' L-C Denmark game, which will begin at 6 p.m. Paul Schmitt and Eric Fischer will have the call.
