Spartans soccer season ends on the road

A win against Algoma in the finale was not enough to spark the offense in Luxemburg-Casco's opener in the WIAA Soccer Tournament on Thursday, losing to Ripon 3-0 on the road.

The Spartans did not get a shot on goal across 80 minutes of action, giving the Tigers' netminder Cody Kamin an uneventful clean sheet. They chased the Tigers all night long, who led 2-0 at the break and tacked on a third in the second half. Carson Kaiser registered the brace for the Tigers, which also got a goal from Ray Ellis.

The Spartans exit the season with a 3-15 record.
