Spartan soccer comes up just short against Freedom

The Luxemburg-Casco Spartans could not overcome a second-half goal from Freeom and fell to the Irish 2-1 in North Eastern Conference boys' soccer Tuesday. 

 

Freedom scored the first goal of the match at the 11-minute mark, a goal by Andres Chavez, assisted by Bradyn Wiedemeier.  

Luxemburg-Casco tied it up with eight minutes left in the first half on a goal by Reese Barbiaux, assisted by Grant Heurkens.  

Freedom would get the decisive goal at the 78-minute mark when Caleb Kurey scored on an assist by Hudson Lang. 


Luxemburg Casco's Quentin Massart had four saves in the goal and
Freedom's Gavin Brennenstuhl had two saves

 

The Spartans will be in action on Friday, hosting Howards Grove / Elkhart Lake—Glenbeulah in Luxemburg for a non-conference game.
