The Luxemburg-Casco Spartans defeated the Shawano Hawks 27-7 for a homecoming win on Friday night in a conference crossover game before a huge crowd at the Luxemburg-Casco Sports Complex.
Andrew Klass led the way for Luxemburg-Casco with three rushing touchdowns, and the L-C defense made the Hawks scoreless after the first quarter.
The Spartans started out slow, with two fumbles in the first quarter. Shawano scored first on a six-yard touchdown pass from Parker Beyer to Wide receiver Austin Heling, making it 7-0.
Klass scored his first touchdown with 4:25 left in the half on a 17-yard scamper up the middle to tie things up.
After a Landon Derenne interception on defense at the Hawks's 31-yard line, Klass scored from eight yards out to make it 14-7 with 1:59 left in the second quarter.
Klass would get his TD hat trick with a one-yard plunge late in the third quarter to give the Spartans a 21-7 lead heading to the fourth.
Luxemburg-Casco would salt the game away with a 24-yard touchdown pass from Derenne to Braydon Loritz to close out the scoring. (photo above)
