The Luxemburg-Casco volleyball team made it to their second semifinals in as many weekends on Saturday, this time taking third place in the Tom Larsen Invite at Green Bay Notre Dame.

 

In pool play, the Spartans:

Beat Kewauskum 25-20, 25-23

Beat DePere 25-11, 25-10

Lost to Kimberly 20-25, 20-25

 

The Spartans lost to Slinger 25-23, 23-25, 8-15 before topping West De Pere in the third-place match 25-20, 25-13.

 

The team's top performers on the day included Alayna Deprez (127 assists, 44 digs, 6 aces), Aubrey Frey (55 kills, 47 digs, 6 aces), Ella Vander Velden (36 kills, 28 digs, 9 aces), Campbell Onell (20 kills and 9 aces), and Rylan Kaminski (46 digs).

 

Head coach Jeff Frey said it was another great day of volleyball, offering his squad another opportunity to improve and grow together. "We dropped a couple of close matches that could have gone either way, and we need to clean some things up.  Overall though, it was a great day of growth."
