The Luxemburg-Casco Spartans hope some home cooking will help them bounce back this Friday as they take on the Xavier Hawks in non-conference football.
The Spartans (0-1) lost on the road to the Seymour Thunder 20-14 last week. One bright spot for L-C was running back Andrew Klass rushing for 110 yards on 21 carries and two touchdowns.
Xavier (1-0) dominated the Valders Vikings 56-12 and scored six touchdowns in the first half alone to take a commanding 42-6 lead into intermission. Matthew Potter had a huge game with 147 yards on 12 carries and scored four of the Hawk’s eight touchdowns.
L-C Coach Neil Seering challenged his squad this week to bring their “A” game against one of the top five teams ranked in the state.
The pregame is set for 6:45 p.m. on 104.1 WRLU, and kick-off is set for 7 p.m. from the Luxemburg-Casco Sports Complex. The game will also be streamed on New Radio Sports Network with Paul Schmitt and Eric Fischer on the call.
