The Luxemburg-Casco softball team put up crooked numbers in four of the five innings they played on Thursday to easily beat Little Chute 13-0.
The Spartans jumped to a 3-0 lead in the first inning thanks to two of the Mustangs' seven errors on the afternoon plus run-scoring hits by Kate Van Ess and Maggie Hanmann. After being held scoreless in the second inning, the Spartans would take the drama out of it in the third inning with five runs before tacking on three more in fourth inning and another two in the fatal fifth inning.
Josie Dorner led the Spartans with a 3-4 day that saw her drive in three runs. Kacie Jorgensen and Anna Vandermause each drove in a pair and Erin Cherovsky, Hanmann, and Van Ess also added RBI. Baylee Wypiszenski sparkled from the circle, allowing just two hits across five innings while striking out five.
The Spartans are back in action Friday when they play Oconto Falls at home at 4:30 p.m.
