The Luxemburg-Casco softball team extended their winning streak to eight with 4-2 and 9-1 wins against Denmark on Friday.

In game one, the Spartans jumped to a 4-0 lead with two runs in the first and third innings. The Vikings cut the lead in half in the sixth inning, but they got no closer. Josie Dorner went 2-3 in the game, while Kate Van Ess and Jillian Jorgensen each went 1-3 with two RBI. Erin Cherovsky went the distance for the Spartans, allowing two runs (2 ER) and seven hits while striking out four.

In game two, the Spartans scored four runs in the third inning and three more in the fourth to put a stranglehold on the game. Payton Kaminski, Jillian Jorgensen, and Rylan Kaminski all drove in two runs apiece while Josie Dorner drove in one. Anna Vandermause was the only hitter for the Spartans with a multi-hit game. Cherovsky was even better in the second game, going the distance again but this time only allowed one run on five hits.
