The Luxemburg-Casco softball team was down 7-0 before they could get on the scoreboard in a 9-4 loss to Freedom on Monday.

After a scoreless first inning, the Irish scored in every other inning in front of their home crowd, including crooked numbers in the second, fourth, and sixth innings.

Maggie Hanmann's grand slam represented the only runs the Spartans scored in the game and one of just six hits they had during the game. Kacie Jorgensen led the Spartans with two hits. All three Spartans pitchers gave up at least two runs in the loss. Isabella Day and Brooke Sowinski each had three hits for the Irish in their victory.

The Spartans are back in action on Tuesday when they face Kewaunee on the road at 4:30 p.m.
