The Luxemburg-Casco Softball team improved to 5-0 with their victory over Waupaca on Thursday, defeating the Comets 9 - 1.
Waupaca got on the board in the first inning, scoring one run on a fielder's choice. The Spartans captured the lead, 4-1, in the top of the second after Jillian Jorgensen singled, Anna Vandermause singled, Grace Kahr hit a sacrifice fly, and Payton Kaminski singled, each scoring one run.
Wypiszenski earned the win for L-C. She gave up one hit and one run over five innings, striking out five and walking one. Erin Chervosky tossed two innings of no-run ball for Luxemburg-Casco in relief.
The Spartans piled up 14 hits in the game. Kahr led L-C going 2 for 2 in the leadoff position, while J. Jorgensen and P. Kaminskin went 2 for 3 and 2 for 4 respectively.
L-C looks to improve to 3-0 in conference as they return to action tonight at home against the Wrightstown Tigers.
