Luxemburg-Casco and Freedom's soccer teams drew blood but not much else in a 1-1 tie Thursday night in Luxemburg.

Freedom's aggressiveness helped them beat goalkeeper Tabi Lemens once in their six shots on goal, but Claire Marohl delivered the goal to keep it a 1-1 score. Aubrey Frey nearly won the game when her kick crossed the goalline into the net, but the officials called that it had not entered the goalmouth before the game-ending buzzer.

The Spartans are back in action Friday night at 5 p.m. when they play a non-conference fixture against Peshtigo. The Bulldogs challenged NEW Lutheran with eight shots on goal, but could only muster a 1-1 draw against the Blazers on Tuesday in their first match of the year.
