Luxemburg-Casco softball team won their first conference matchup of the season, defeating the Clintonville Truckers 15-0 in five innings. The Spartans jumped out to a five-nothing lead at the bottom of the first inning. Eight more runs crossed the plate in the third inning, highlighted by Rylan Kaminski’s three-run shot over the left-center fence. Kate Van Ess earned the win for L-C, surrendering three hits and zero runs over three innings. The Spartans accumulated 14 hits in the game. Jillian Jorgensen went 3 for 3 at the plate with 3 RBIs. Katie Van Ess and Grace Kahr were each two for three, while Rylan Kaminski’s four plate appearances resulted in 3 walks and a 3-run homer.
The Spartans return to action against the Seymour Thunder on Tuesday at home, first pitch at 4:30.
