Ladies first at Bi-State Classic for Luxemburg-Casco, Southern Door wrestlers

One of the biggest wrestling tournaments of the year will open on Thursday, with the Luxemburg-Casco and Southern Door girls taking the mat first.

 

Some of the best schools in Wisconsin and Minnesota will converge in LaCrosse on Thursday for the annual Bi-State Classic, including Adams-Friendship. Amery, Aquinas, Auburndale, Badger, Belleville, Belmont, Bloomington Kennedy, Boscobel, Brillion, Cannon, Falls, Chatfield, DC Everest, DeSoto, Dodgeville, Eastview, Eau Claire North, Fennimore, Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau, Grand Meadow, Holmen, Homestead, Hudson, Hutchinson, Ithaca, Kickapoo, Lancaster, Lewiston-Altura, Lodi, Logan, Marshfield, Mauston, Mineral Point, Monroe, Mount Horeb, Neenah, Nekoosa, New Richmond, North Crawford, Oconto Falls, Prairie du Chien, Pulaski, Richland Center, River Valley, South Saint Paul, Sparta, Spencer, Stanley-Boyd, Stevens Point (SPASH), Stoughton, Tomah, Verona Area, Viroqua, Waunakee, Wausau West, West Salem, Westby Area, Wrightstown and Zumbrota-Mazeppa high schools.

 

The Spartans and the Eagles have boasted several top-three performances among their wrestlers in their tournaments earlier this season. 

 

Wrestling begins on Thursday at 4 p.m. before it concludes on Friday. As for the schools' boys teams, the Spartans are also competing in the Bi-State Classic in LaCrosse, while the Eagles are scheduled to wrestle at the On The Water Wrestling Classic at UW-Oshkosh. Their first matches are on Friday beginning after 9 a.m.
