Spartans dominate Little Chute on 96.7 WBDK

The Luxemburg-Casco Spartans exploded with big plays Friday night to trounce the Little Chute Mustangs 37-6 in a WIAA Division 4 Level 1 playoff in Luxemburg.

Running back Andrew Klass scored two touchdowns for the Spartans, and quarterback Max Ronsman had a big game in the passing game as the Mustangs had no answers all night long.

The Spartans scored first with 1:28 left in the first quarter on a four-yard run by Klass to give Luxemburg-Casco a 7-0 lead.

A 24-yard field goal by Trace Shoenebeck early in the second quarter increased the lead to 10-0 before an 88-yard strike from Ronsman to Braeden Schley gave the Spartans a commanding 16-0 lead. 

Luxemburg-Casco would add a touchdown with just 48 seconds left in the half on a four-yard run by Cameron Dorner to make it 23-0 at halftime.

 

The Spartans would add two more scores in the second half on a one-yard run by Chris VanderWielen and a two-yard run by Klass to take a 37-0 lead and start a continuous clock with 11:16 left in the fourth quarter.

Little Chute finally scored on a 27-yard pass play with 8:09 left in the game to close out the scoring and make the final 37-6.

The #2 seeded Spartans (9-1 overall) will host the #3 seeded Kiel Raiders in Level 2 playoff action next Friday on 96.7 WBDK and streamed on New Radio Sports Network. The pregame is set for 6:45 p.m. on 96.7 WBDK, and the kick-off is set for 7 p.m.
