Spartans volleyball team up with Wrightstown to dig pink

The Luxemburg-Casco volleyball team will continue its run through the NEC on Thursday with a match for a cause at Wrightstown.

 

The Spartans returned from being down two sets to none Tuesday night to defeat the Oconto Falls Panthers 3-2 in Luxemburg. The Spartans dropped the first two sets 22-25 and 19-25, before winning the last three, 25-20, 25-11, and 15-13. Alayna Deprez led the Spartans with a great floor game with 41 assists and eight digs.  Aubrey Frey had 21 kills, 17 digs, and three aces, while Ella Vander Velden added 12 kills, four blocks, and three aces.

 

The Tigers have lost two of their last three matches, all in NEC play. They lost in their last outing, dropping three straight sets to Freedom.

 

Opening serve is set for 7 p.m.
