Spartans softball looks to extend winning streak at Little Chute

The Luxemburg-Casco softball team continues their chase of Freedom in the NEC standings on Monday when they are scheduled to play Little Chute on the road.

In their last conference game, eight runs in the first inning were all the Luxemburg-Casco softball team would need in a 14-2 win over Marinette Thursday afternoon. The Spartans' offense frustrated Marines pitcher Bre Adamski, who gave up all 14 runs on 12 hits and five walks across four innings. Payton Kaminski and Grace Kahr each registered a pair of hits while Jillian Jorgensen collected three RBI and a hit to lead Luxemburg-Casco. Savannah Jandrin earned the win, surrendered one run on four hits over two innings, striking out two and walking zero. They also beat Algoma 4-1 on Friday.

The Mustangs are on the opposite side of the NEC table, posting a 3-12 record so far this season. They have lost nine of their last 12 game, including two-game sweeps at the hands of Waupaca and Denmark their last times out.

Weather permitting, the first pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m.
