The Luxemburg-Casco Spartans swept a doubleheader against Wrightstown on the road 10-0 and 8-3.  The Spartans are now 9-1 for the season, here is a recap of the twin bill from Tuesday. 

 

Game 1:

Luxemburg-Casco defeated Wrightstown Varsity 10-0 on Tuesday as Savannah Jandrin and Erin Cherovsky combined to throw a shutout in the first game of their double header.

 

The Spartans secured the victory thanks to eight runs in the first inning.  Payton Kaminski, Rylan Kaminski, Jillian Jorgensen, Anna Vandermause, Grace Kahr each had RBIs in the big inning.    Grace Kahr went 2 for 3 with 2 RBI, Payton Kaminski was 2 for 4 with 3 RBI and  Jillian Jorgensen went 2 for 3 with  2 RBI.

 

Game 2

In the nightcap the Spartans snagged a late lead and defeated the Tigers 8-3.  L-C was down 2-1 until the bottom of the fifth, when they capitalized on two errors, two hits and two Wrightstown errors to score four runs.  They added three more in the bottom of the sixth when Kacie Jorgensen reached on an error,  Anna Vandermause singled and Grace Kahr sent a triple to the right-center gap.  Kahr then scored the Spartans final run on a Payton Kaminski single.

 

Savannah Jandrin took the win for Luxemburg-Casco, surrendering three runs on seven hits over seven innings while striking out three.

 

The Spartans tallied 10 hits.  Anna Vandermause, Rylan Kaminski, Grace Kahr, and Kylie Hanson each collected two hits to lead Luxemburg-Casco.
