Spartan softball sweeps double header from Oconto Falls on Friday

Luxemburg-Casco Spartan girls softball knocked in four runs in the second on its way to a 7-1 victory over Oconto Falls in the first game of a double header on Friday in Luxemburg.

The Spartans got things started in the second inning on Grace Kahr’s 2 RBI single.

Savannah Jandrin picked up the win for the Spartans. She threw for six allowing three hits and one run while striking out ten. Erin Cherovsky threw one inning in relief.

The team totaled nine hits. Kahr and Hanson each had multiple hits. Hanson was 2 for 4 with 3 RBI, while Kahr went 3-for-4 to lead the L-C offense.

 

In the nightcap Grace Kahr bagged four hits in Luxemburg-Casco Varsity Spartans 15-4 victory. Kahr singled in each of the first four innings, Payton Kaminski and Josie Dorner both went 3 for 4 with 3 singles each.

 

L-C tallied eight runs in the second inning. The offensive onslaught came from singles by Payton Kaminski, Hanson, Josie Dorner, and Rylan Kaminski, by Anna Vandermause, and by Maggie Hanmann.

 

The Spartans totaled 16 hits. Kahr, Dorner, Kaminski, and Jillian Jorgensen each collected multiple hits. Kahr led the team with four hits in four at bats.

 

L-C improves to 6-1 on the season and will face Denmark in a game on Monday that willl be broadcast on 104.1 WRLU and streamed on New Radio Sports Network.  Paul Schmitt and Reece Robillard will be on the call starting with the pregame at 4:15 p.m. and the first pitch at 4:30 p.m.
