Last night it was a pitcher's dual, between the Irish from Freedom and the Spartans. Ryan Routhieaux got the nod on the hill, to face last year 1st team all-conference pitcher of the year. Carter Krewaldt,  Both pitchers would go on the strike out 12 batters. In the 4th inning, Routhieaux would give up his first hit of the game, and the Irish would end up scoring 1 run in the 4th. The Spartans would put pressure on Krewaldt and match the run of the Irish. The Spartans then would end the scoring in the bottom of the 6th, where Garrett Simonar would lead the inning off with a home run. Routhieaux finished off the Irish in the 7th with 3 strikeouts to finish the Irish 2-1. The Spartans travel to Freedom Thursday.
