Luxemburg-Casco High School

Spartans look to get right against Irish

After losing its first two games, the Luxemburg-Casco Spartans baseball team will look to get into the win column when they take on the Freedom Irish Tuesday afternoon.

The Spartans dropped a pair of games at Capital Credit Union Park over the weekend, losing to Denmark and Notre Dame. Drew Bandow drove in Ryan Routhieaux in the matchup against Denmark for the Spartans only run of that matchup. Luxemburg-Casco returns three players from the NEC All-Conference team from last season in Routhieaux, Garrett Simonar, and Chris VanderWielen.

Freedom has gotten off to the exact opposite start of the Spartans, going 2-0 in the Crivitz Triangular on Saturday. After taking down the host school Crivitz 6-1, the Irish made a statement, blowing out Menominee (MI) 16-1. The two schools split their two game season series last year, with the Spartans winning the first game 10-3 and Freedom winning the second 12-2.

First pitch from Luxemburg-Casco is set for 4:30 p.m.
