Luxemburg-Casco's wrestling team was a really good on the mat this season, but they may have been even better in the classroom.
The Wisconsin Wrestling Coaches Association announced its 2023 Academic All-State teams on Monday, placing 10 Spartans wrestlers on the list. The Spartans had four seniors and six juniors named to the various squads that were first tiered and then separated by age group:
SENIORS
1st Team: Easton Worachek
Honorable Mention: George Herlache
JUNIORS
2nd Team: Max Ronsman
Honorable Mention: Jake Jandrin, Isaac Jerabek, Caleb Delebreau, Sam Schutz, Trace Schoenebeck, and Ezra Waege
SOPHOMORE
1st team: Blaklee Bastien
Kewaunee also placed two on the list with senior Mitchell Thompson named to the 1st team and Kemper Robinson named to the second team.
To be nominated, wrestlers had to:
- A minimum 3.5 grade point average (non-weighted) is required for nomination.
- Weighted grades must be adjusted to a 4.0 scale. Verification of the GPA is required. This includes grades inflated for AP and other advanced courses. All courses must be scored on a 4.0 scale.
- A nominee must be in good standing at school prior to the season and throughout the school year.
