The Luxemburg-Casco girls basketball team will face their toughest task of the season on Tuesday when they welcome NEC-leading Freedom to town for Alumni Night.
The Spartans used a suffocating defense to beat their NEC rivals Denmark 41-33 in their last week. Maggie Hanmann led the Spartans with 13 points, scoring eight of the decisive second half. Alanna Mrotek added nine points, while Gabby Wech and Alayna Deprez each added six points.
The Irish are off to a 7-1 mark, including a perfect 5-0 mark in the NEC. That includes a dominating 62-16 win over Little Chute. The Mustangs were outscored by the Irish 28-2 in the opening frame of the game. The Irish have three players averaging in double-figures, led by Sadie Jarmolowicz's 14 points per game.
Tip off is set for 7:30 p.m.
