Spartans fall to Tigers on 96.7 WBDK, wait for WIAA decision

The Luxemburg-Casco Spartans could not stop the Wrightstown Tigers’ dual offensive attack Friday night, losing 27-15 in Luxemburg on Senior Night.

The Spartans struck first after a Chris Vanderwielen interception in the first quarter when freshman quarterback Brayden Loritz ran in from three yards out to give L-C an 8-0 lead with the two-point conversion by Braeden Schley.

Wrightstown would then score on three consecutive drives, including two touchdown passes from Trevor Vande Hey to Avery Lieck from 42 yards and tight end Logan Peters from 25 yards, respectively.

The Spartans trailed 21-8 when Loritz hit Trace Schoenebeck from 22 yards to close it within one score before halftime with 1:18 left in the second quarter.

The Tigers would score late in the third quarter with a big third down conversion near midfield, with Conlen Lasecki scampering 46 yards for the final score of the night to give Wrightstown the 27-15 margin.

Wrightstown (5-2, 7-2 overall) will now wait for the pairings in the WIAA tournament for Division 4, while Luxemburg-Casco (3-4, 5-4 overall) will have to wait for their playoff fate when the announcement comes at 10 am Saturday for Division 3.
